How to Add References

Hey Curators!

I finally got the references page added. You'll now see a link called "Add a Reference" in your block of Curator Links.

If you've already entered your mutations, you should follow this procedure:

1) Find your mutation using either the map or the list.

2) Click the "Add Reference" link to the right of your mutation.

3) Enter the first author's last name and click "Check" to make sure that the reference has not already been added.
a) If the reference is already there, simply click the "Associate with Selected Mutation" link.
b) If the reference has not yet been entered, continue to add it.

Following this procedure will save steps because it will automatically associate your mutation with the new reference.

Please note: if there are non-standard symbols like the greek letter for Beta in your article title, they might work, but to be safe it may be better to rewrite them as "beta."

As always, please post here or email me at kcallenb at email dot sjsu dot edu if you have any questions.

Re: Previous References

I can't add references previously entered into the db to my mutations from the same article. Should I just keep pasting the same information for each mutation?

Re: Previous References

To add references previously entered you should:

  1. find the mutation in the Mutation list
  2. click on the mutation
  3. click add reference
  4. type in the first few letters of the authors last name (it is just searching for <string>*)
  5. click "Associate selected mutation"

It looks like you did these things but in step 4 you might have spelled the name differently and therefore it didn't find it for you.
